News from March 2009 Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 11:30 a.m. Kelly had his sinus surgery yesterday. The surgery went well. The doctor said he was able to remove everything from his sinus cavity. He said that his whole sinus cavity was full and that whatever discomfort he may feel will be far out weighed by the improvement of breathing. That has already proven to be true. Kelly is already able to breathe some through his nose. That is a first in a long while. He is doing well overall. The biggest discomfort right now is his throat, from the breathing tube that was in during the operation. He is tired and a little out of it but not in much pain, in large part due to drugs I am sure. Thank you all for your prayers for him, and please continue to pray that he will recover quickly and fully. The next step is to work on a regiment that will help keep him clear of infection and inflammation so that hopefully the polyps do not grow back. Micah is also having a hard time again. He is running a fever and having more seizures. Please pray for healing for him. Pray for wisdom for us to know how to access and treat his symptoms. Micah also got a new wheel chair last week. It is quite deluxe and has his name embroidered across the back. We are so thankful that we have access to so many resources that help take care of his needs. Monday, March 16, 2009, 11:30 a.m. I know it has been a while since I have given an update. It has been almost a months. Overall, Micah has continued to do well. We have had some beautiful moments of interaction with him—many more smiles, gazes and even giggles. We caught him laughing on video this weekend. What a treasure! He continues to enjoy school and always surprises us as far as what he will tolerate and continues to make progress with his therapies. He does have a cold and fever right now. I know the last time I gave an update he was sick too. He has stayed healthy over the last month, but he's down again now. Please continue to pray for healing and protection from pneumonia. Kelly is going to have surgery next Tuesday on his sinuses. Please pray that this is successful and that his recovery will not be long. Pray that the surgery will solve the problems that he has been having with his breathing and all that it encompasses. Thank you for your prayers for us we know that God hears and answers.
