Biography
Raymond was born and raised in Vallejo, California, the 4th of his parent’s six children. Growing up, his family attended church, and he learned about God at an early age. In 1980, during a youth/young adult retreat, Raymond dedicated his life to Christ. While serving as a volunteer staff member with that same youth/young adult group, he reconnected with a former high school classmate, Denise, whom he married in 1984.
Together they have enjoyed serving as volunteer youth staff and ministering to middle school/high school students for more than 25 years. During that time, Raymond has also served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Raymond and his wife are the proud parents of Jack Bower, their Australian Shepherd, and feel blessed to be included in the lives of their fourteen nephews/nieces and countless other youth who call them “Uncle Raymond and Aunt Denise.” Raymond is a pipefitter by trade and specializes in designing HVAC for new building construction.
Favorite Things
Raymond likes watching a variety of sports on television (baseball, soccer, tennis, football and basketball), as well as movies, his favorite being Raiders of the Lost Ark. He plays tennis and enjoys outings in his RV where he spends time fishing and spending time with family and friends. Raymond also loves to travel with his favorite destinations being Europe (to visit his family in Holland) and Maui (especially during whale season).
Life Scripture
“Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.”
