He had no spiritual guidance from his parents while growing up. However, he does remember going to church from time to time with his neighbors where he recalls hearing about God's love for him. When Hilton was a teen, he spent his summers working in construction with his uncle who was a Deacon in a Southern Baptist church in the Sacramento area. His uncle took Hilton to church with him and his family and shared the gospel with him. Hilton accepted Christ as his Savior when he was sixteen. In 1963, Hilton married Neta. Their son, Christopher, was born in 1966, and their daughter, Kelli, was born in 1968. Hilton was ordained as a Deacon in a Southern Baptist church in Sacramento in 1973. In 1974, they moved to Grass Valley, California and then to the Bay Area in 1985. Hilton and Neta have been members of New Harbor since 2002. Favorite Things I like to play golf when I get a chance, and I love gospel music. I also enjoy reading the Word and books by authors such as Rick Warren, Max Lucado, and others. I also love Christian biographies. Life Scripture "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
