Julia Ecker
Office Manager

Biography
Julia grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and was familiar with the story of Jesus' birth, crucifixion and resurrection. After trying to live her life her own way and feeling like something major was missing, Julia accepted the love of Jesus and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior in November of 1987. Julia will never forget how much her life changed and how whole she felt—as whole as her Father in heaven was perfect.
Julia attended Scottsdale Community College and Paradise Valley Community College to study Business. Before finishing school, she was offered a full-time job as office manager of an Executive Suite.
After praying for a husband, the Lord blessed Julia with John Ecker. They have been married for 14 years. John had a job transfer to Northern California, and they were ready to see what the Lord had in store for them in a new location.
John and Julia have a wonderful daughter, Amanda, 11 years of age, and a new baby born in September of 2004 after the loss of Julia's mother. The Lord blessed the Eckers with a sweet baby boy, James Thomas (little J. T.)!
The Ecker family joined New Harbor in April of 2000. "New Harbor is our home. We didn't have to do that church shopping thing at all. We just knew it was the Lord inviting us to get plugged in and start serving at New Harbor. I've been blessed with such an incredible church family. I started off working in the Nursery and then became a teacher for Sunday School."
Julia has also helped with the HUGS (Hospitality, Ushers & Greeters) Ministry. "I remember my first visit to New Harbor and how comfortable my family and I felt. We were welcomed and felt the love of Jesus! My daughter was five and she really liked going to Sunday School. It’s been really neat to see her grow in her young walk."
In November of 2002, Julia became the office manager at New Harbor. "I've learned while working at the church that what I have on my agenda is second to what God has on my agenda. I've seen people grow in their faith, many prayers answered, and so much more. Some days are just so incredible, and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to see God working at New Harbor."
