Kelly Patchin
Pastor

Biography
Kelly was blessed with growing up in a Christian home. He came to know Christ at the age of 8 and began learning about the Bible when he was 12. He felt God's leading for him to go to a Christian College (Master's College), and it was there that he realized God's calling in his life. After meeting his wife, Jennifer, in a Bible Study he was teaching, they married, had their first daughter Victoria, and shortly after headed off to seminary at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Since then, they have had Blake, Isabel, and now Micah. Wow! Kelly has loved being in ministry of one kind or another since he was 19. He has worked at Grace in Santa Clarita and First Baptist in San Francisco before coming to Benicia in the summer of 1997 to pastor New Harbor Community Church. He truly loves being a husband, father, and pastor. "It's a kick!"
Favorite Things
I love diverse music styles and like to play guitar and sing.
My hobbies are varied also. I like computers, projects for the kids, first edition classic books, old artifacts I can't afford, copies of historic documents, and toys (LOTR).
The movies I like would include old westerns (including the Duke's movies), WWII films, The Lord of the Rings trilogy (which would take all day to watch), most every film with Cary Grant (one cool dude), and the occasional chic flic like Pride and Prejudice (for the wife, of course).
I have a library full of books. I enjoy the Bible, of course, but some others I enjoy would include Augustine's Confessions, pretty much all of C.S. Lewis's books including his children's series, and Justov Gonzalez's The Story of Christianity. On the leisure side, I enjoy mostly classics: Kipling, H.G. Wells, Robert Louis Stevenson, and sometimes Dickens.
Historical Person
Besides Jesus (I have met Him, just not 2,000 years ago) and others out of the Bible, I believe Blaise Pascal would have been fascinating to meet. His intelligence and depth of understanding has always fascinated me.
Life Scriptures
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
John 3:16
"Remember me, O my God, for good."
Nehemiah 13:31b
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost."
Revelation 22:16-17
