Biography

Tom grew up in San Francisco and went to a private religious school where he learned about God, Jesus, and the Bible. He believed it all as a child, but he only believed it in his head. Tom didn’t personally accept Christ as his Savior until after graduating from high school when his cousin, who had gotten saved a few years prior, shared the gospel with him. He knew something truly changed in his life after that point; he had a desire to read the Word and to pray which he never had before.

During his sophomore year at U.C. Berkeley, he started going to a Bible study on campus and got discipled by one of the Bible study leaders. He soon started attending their church services in San Francisco. At that church, Tom led and taught college Bible studies, organized Christian conferences for college students, and discipled and mentored other young men. He later met his wife Rovellyn at that church, got married, and had their first child, Stephen. After moving to Richmond, they had their second child, Danielle.

A year and a half later, Tom and Rovellyn moved their family to Vallejo and started attending a church in Lafayette. There, Tom served as a high school youth group leader and deacon.

In December 2002, Tom and Rovellyn moved to Benicia, unknowingly, across the street from Kelly and Jennifer Patchin. During that time, the Linn family was attending a small church in Napa, which they were happy with, but wanted to be involved in a church in their own community. On Easter Sunday 2004, they visited New Harbor and have been going ever since. Tom works on the church website, has served as an Awana leader and deacon at New Harbor, and finds it a privilege to now serve as an elder.
