OUR BELIEFS

"If I ... understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing."

- 1 CORINTHIANS 13:2, NLT -

we are a church that desires to

love Jesus first

and to love others
the way Jesus loves us.

AND WE DEMONSTRATE THIS LOVE BY UPHOLDING THESE BELIEFS:

GOD'S WORD

The Bible is God’s Word. It was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired, it is absolutely trustworthy and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 • 2 Peter 1:20-21

THE TRINITY

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal and perform distinct but harmonious functions in creation, redemption, and Providence.

God the Father. We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. In the affairs of mankind, he hears and answers prayer and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:1 • 1 Peter 1:2 • Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ. We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. Matthew 1:22-23 • John 1:1-5 • Romans 1:3-4 • 1 Corinthians 5:3-4 • Timothy 6:14-15

The Holy Spirit. We believe in God, the Holy Spirit, who came from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells, baptizes, and regenerates every believer at salvation and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the act of placing the believer into the body of Christ. John 16:7-13 • Acts 1:8 • 1 Corinthians 2:12 • Ephesians 1:13-14

MAN'S NATURE AND FAITH

Sin Nature. All men by nature and by choice are sinners but that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God's presence, and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God. Romans 3:23, 6:23 • Philippians 3:20-21 • 1 John 2:25

Responsible to God. Every human being is responsible to God in matters of faith.

THE CHURCH

Led by Christ. The Church is a living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head, and of which all believers are members. We believe that a church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with him in baptism and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. 1 Corinthians 16:19 • 1 Timothy 5:17

Ordinances. The Church should observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. God has laid upon His church the task of persuading a lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to embrace him as Lord and Master. We believe that human betterment and social improvement are essential products of the Gospel.
